Hillary Clinton calls for ‘common sense’ gun reforms in wake of Charleston shooting

Fair enough. So let's step aside from those groups. I will start but, before I do, it needs to be said that my own experiences, real life experiences have shaped my opinions on this topic. 4 times in my life I have pulled my weapon in self defense. Never a shot fired and the attempted crimes ended immediately. The first time was camping. Some unsavory folks showed up and thought it would be fun to start harassing us up to the point of one telling the others to grab my GF for some fun. I pulled my concealed g19 and it ended there (as did our camping trip), second time we were in a canoe on a lake and a boat kept trying to capsize us. I drew my weapon, held it up in the air and they sped off. 3rd time I was delivering electronics to a local store and some thugs thought they cornered me in the back of the truck and thought they were going to steal my cargo with a knife and a bat. Again, I drew my weapon and off they went. 4th time was I caught someone trying to break into my house.

So, whether it's my bad luck or not at least 3 times my weapon preserved my life as well as those of friends. For some keyboard cowboy asshole to come along (not you, just generally speaking) and tell me that I'm a nut job, a gun nutter, supporter of the deaths of children, etc makes my blood boil like none other. Why? Because they are essentially saying that my, my GF, and my friends lives were not worth protecting. Fuck that.

None of the so called gun control measures in place work worth a shit. In fact, they make things worse. 300 million guns legally owned by almost 100 million Americans. That's an average of a gun being possessed by 1 out of every 3.5 people you come across. If there was any reality to the statements made by gun control supporters to justify more gun control then the streets should be running with rivers of blood.

The solution is not in gun control. It's in people control
