House Republicans Shut Off Cameras After Democrats Start Sit-In For Gun Control

Wow, I'm from the UK and when I see this kind of story I feel proud of democrats wanting to make the change that the rest of the world and much of America see as necessary to help a great nation like yours, save the lives of its people. The defence of one's citizen's lives is and should be the first principle of any nation.

I came to reddit tonight after reading an article on the Guardian website certain that it would be front page. Yet it isn't and I'm confused.

Isn't this an enormous public health issue if nothing else? 8 people die from faulty gear boxes, or a gorilla gets shot and you lose your minds yet thousands die from easy access to automatic weapons designed to kill and some courageous people decide to try and build momentum to do something about this and the reaction is negligible. Come on, it needs reddit's support.

Oh and by the way, I can't believe the top comment is regarding the cameras - people are dying.
