Because, as I said, evolution means death. The devils weren't created, or at least not like that. They are fallen angels. Evolution is a 'retarded' creation method because God has the power to create by speaking one word. Why wouldn't He do that? It'd be a much greater display of His power if He did. As metaphor yes. Adam means man and Eve means to breathe or to live. As such they would speak of a period of time when our ancestors ceased to be apes and s became human, our consciousness began to develop. This probably happened over many thousands of years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I take this as you believing they did not exist. Well, did their son Abel exist? Paul talks about Abel in Hebrews 11. Is he listing a mix of historical and fictional characters?

Besides, how do you explain the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Luke 3? It goes back all the way to Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
