While I think it was inevitable Ireland was going to get it, I still think the HSE have been a joke this whole time. I researched that the longer you can avoid getting it the better for you and your county. This is my HSE rant.

“Face masks offer no protection” what about protecting others. You are letting people off planes from infected areas without quarantining them or making them wear masks. I get you don’t have the balls to stop Flights but at least do the others.

“A person in the east has been infected, if you know or have any information please contact us”. I don’t know HSE.... the east is a big place with a large population. You don’t need to name them but I’m not here to solve an impossible riddle at the same time.

They are getting people to go to their GP’s to see if they have the symptoms first and then the GP sends samples to the HSE for a test. Think about this for a minute. Let’s let the countries most contagious people contact their GP’s who look after hundreds of already sick people per week. Why not have pop up clinics across the country, that only cater for getting symptoms of People who think they have the virus. Or been to an infected area (oh wait the HSE will only take tests if you have the systems, so that means if I’m back from northern Italy I should be fine... no need for a test happy days.... I’m off to a crowded area)

I get they are trying to not panic people and maybe don’t want certain business to be cut straight away (airline etc) but this will only end up costing the tax payer in the end on medical expenses and will end up having a knock on effect on smaller businesses across the country. Publicans, the unemployed, contractors, event companies and many more will all be squeezed at this rate.

The HSE are an embarrassment and a joke
