This is good advice. Believe it or not, I've only been to Bangkok twice and I try to avoid it like the plague. I spend most of my time in quiet Chiang Mai (which suits me). I don't like a lot of noise or big cities and I don't even understand how people know how to get around Bangkok.
However, I was in Phuket recently for almost a month speaking at a conference.
And, I'm on this tropical beach paradise type place, and to be honest I WAS FUCKING BORED OUT OF MY MIND.
So, I tried to go down to Patong you know and go to a bar, but it was ALL CLUBS lol.
So, I tried to go into a few of these clubs, and all the girls were sexy as fuck, and everybody was dancing around...and I got freaked out and just went and found some quiet place and drank there in boredom.
That got me thinking about all these types of environments I find myself in, especially throughout Southeast Asia, they're just all loud, thumping club-like places.
And I thought - "How the fuck do I do this right? Like...what are the rules for going to the club?"
Because I know dive-bar life, but not that.
Anyway, good advice I'll try to apply it.
