humans should purposely advance technology to the point where artificial intelligence replaces us in the workforce

The idea of being alive for 80+ years, living an extremely ordinary and predictable life and not doing nothing but sitting home at a computer sounds agonizing and extremely boring.

I don't think birth>go to school>work>retire>die is really that bad. Working and going to school lets you meet new people and has taught me a lot of lessons about life and people in general.

There's a lot of cons about AI too. As in, governments using them to spy on people and using them as war weapons is one of them, there's a lot of others too.

You actually think technological advancement is making people happy? Look at how depressed most people are nowadays because of how advanced it's getting and how it's taking over every aspect of our lives. Quality of life might always be "peaking in the current year" but I think a lot of things were better in past times when we didn't incorporate it into everything so much.

People prefer any decade prior to the 2010s just for that reason alone but they just won't admit it. Letting technology get that advanced will just lead to a lot of fat and lazy people if you ask me.
