ISIS is making up to $50 million a month from oil sales

A few days late but better late than never. As a westerner and where I live in Saudi, it is easy to see how these guys are recruited to ISIS. The normal population has no job prospects if they are not the best in their class of petroleum engineers. They refuse to do service labor and do not work in gas stations, restaurants, or other service based jobs because they think they are above them. Instead, they bring in Phillipinos, Chinese, and Thais to do the job and treat them like peasants. Now, you have a ton of college graduates with no job hopes whatsoever that cannot legally talk to women until they are married (let alone have been laid) and are living with their parents. Also, you have to have money or a good job to be considered for an arranged marriage.

Then some dude comes along and promises women, money, and a life of freedom. A modern day pirate if you will. Plus they are guaranteed a spot in the new caliphate as a fighter or martyr. If you had no hope of living an exciting life would you take it? I probably would, except for the beheading, murdering, and raping part it sounds like a lot of fun for a 20's something male that was secluded all his life and raised in a very religious area.

So, they get them up there to ISIS territory on hopes and dreams and it is not what they thought. Or they just talk them into blowing themselves up in a crowded mosque in their home town. Either way, they are now stuck. They are most likely tagged by the EU and US, will never leave the middle east again and have nothing left to live for. At that point, they think why not cash in on the 72-or-someodd virgins that I was guaranteed in the afterlife and kill some infidels at the same time... The middle east is a scary place and it will only get worse before it gets better. They have not hit "rock-bottom" yet...
