I've had a yeast infection for over 9 months !!!

Whoa, definitely see another doctor. You have a bad fungus situation. The yeast infection has never gone away--the symptoms have just abated temporarily and seemed to be gone, but was still there. When you use the over-the-counter meds, which do you use? That is, the one-day treatment is often not enough to cure the yeast infection so you may find the 7 day treatment works better.

So if I were you, I'd do several things: find a new gynecologist because the one you have just isn't cutting it, so you'll want a new one anyway for your future needs. You could also see your primary doctor if you prefer and tell them you have a yeast infection and ask for a pill to treat it--Fluconazole or Diflucan is pretty standard to take, and doesn't really have a down side so docs aren't shy about prescribing it, even when they're not a gyn. So if you can see your primary care doc quicker than you can find and see a new gyn, personally, I'd go for the primary doc. A lot of primary care physicians will prescribe two doses of the yeast treatment--you take one immediately and then the next dose in a week if you're not cured. In the meantime, until you can see your doctor of choice, get the 7-day over the counter treatment and use it. Heck, get 2 of the 7-day treatments and use them for 2 weeks. At the same time, I'd get some over-the-counter yeast treatment for your chest and boob rashes. Typical treatment for those is to use the over-the-counter anti-fungals that are often marketed as athlete's foot treatment. But it's the same stuff for athlete's foot as for your chest rash. Generic term is Terbinafine Hydrochloride Cream. Popular brand name is Lamisil AT. Apply that twice a day to affected area and it will likely go away within a couple of days plus you'll see an improvement after only one or two days, and if it doesn't go away in 5 days, you can bring it up when you see your doctor. You can also use the yeast infection stuff on your chest (but don't use the athlete's foot stuff for your nether regions yeast infection). So in other words, some yeast infection treatments come with an extra tube of stuff for topical relief--that can be used on your chest. Also, are you having a sore throat or does your tongue hurt? If so, you could have a mouth yeast infection too.

Once it's fixed, tell your mom--she shouldn't have to deal with this stuff, either! Sometimes people are told some sort of problem is normal and they just accept it, when the cure is easily within their grasp.
