@jeremycorbyn - Monday, the @Conservatives spent £1 billion to cling onto power. Yesterday, they voted against nurses getting paid a penny extra #NastyParty

Received another letter from the head teacher today And I sat down and started to cry It broke my heart that he should suffer this way As he sincerely apologised why

Our son sits in classes without any teacher Learns from books that are no longer there Plays cricket indoors plastic bats, plastic balls No field, no feel for wood hitting leather No clubs, no mentors, no after school tutors Learning IT on dated computers

I cry for the head, for his school raped, torn and bled His passion for teaching now fettered Hurting over where he will make the next cut Empty promises it will get better

His teachers are broken Four off on stress leave 6th formers valiantly step in Doing their best to help nurture our young As their protectors let them down again

So I cry for the head bent with cap in his hand Bearing the weight of young lives on his shoulders I cry for our children being robbed of a life Regret for memories they’ll miss when they’re older

I cry for the teachers who dedicate their lives already being pushed beyond limit And a rage builds within as they are told yet again They haven’t been bled quite enough

Dig deep, be tough, be prudent be strong I’m afraid there are more cuts to come So sorry you’re sore it’s not budgeted for But somehow we must pay for that bung

So I pray to a God who I don’t know is there I pray that He adds to the roar As the nation unites and shouts with one voice We won’t take it – “No not one day more”
