I can't count the number of times people have said "xyz shouldn't be done the way that it's done". That's kind of what we all do here. Heck, that's how society as a whole grows. Without people saying "that's fucked up. We should change that", only rich white dudes would be able to vote. Several countries would still be under the rule of kings. Serfdom would still be a thing. Hell, who knows where we'd be. Still living in caves perhaps, idfk. Thinking that things won't change so why bother even saying anything isn't at all helpful for anyone.

You're right, if a child wants to see their incarcerated parent(s), they should absolutely be able to. But shouldn't something be done to make that safer for them? Individual visiting rooms or 3 walled cubicle things (hell, even my car dealer has those) for families with children? Idk, it's way outside of my field but I'd think someone could think of something that could still be adequately monitored for contraband smuggling and illicit activities while still allowing a certain level of privacy (and therefore protection) for everyone involved.
