So I'm well aware that many of you are tired of the many redesign suggestions for our flag but please hear me out on this.
I agree that the current flag is serviceable but to be perfectly honest I really wish it were different. If Australia becomes a republic in the future (which is quite possible) having the Union Jack would make no sense. In addition, the generic red/blue/white colour combo and absence of even some green and gold has always bothered me.
This flag is a slightly modified version of the 'Southern Field' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Southern_Field_Australian_Flag_Proposal.svg). I remember this flag being posted here before and the primarily complaint being that gold and green were too garish (which I agree with) so I reduced the amount of them and made the shade of blue 'softer'. With these changes made, I think I've found my 'ideal' flag and one which should satisfy the vast majority of people - different yet still incredibly similar to the previous flag.
Anyway, do you like or not? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
