Is it just me or...

Nowadays, teaching your child anything is seen as a crime

I’m not sure what you mean here.

I am American. My parents were born here. I did not struggle as much as they did. My siblings and I all finished college.

I have a child and my goal is for him to endure less struggle than I did, while ensuring he is a better person.

Because my husband and I are raising him, I have no doubt that he will carry on our family’s legacy, culture, and heritage.

It sounds like you could be grateful that you have an opportunity to participate in continuing your family’s farm since it meant so much to you. Instead, it sounds like this pretty amazing opportunity has resulted in your own disgruntlement. Why should your cousins sacrifice to run this farm when you seem angry enough about it to dismiss their choices and the “lifestyle” of all of the Americans you know?

I hope you enjoy your summer and you get all the satisfaction you deserve from saving this beloved family heirloom.
