I kinda dislike my own people (horse people)

Ugh. I’ve been having flashbacks to when I was working for a married couple who owned a tack shop a few years ago because I’m about to start competing in some dressage and I’m honesty terrified of running into them. They were terrible in so many ways. The bad kind of crazy horse people, to the core. They fired me when I needed time after my grandma had passed, and months afterwards accused me of stealing an entire saddle because I had been the one to reorganize their extremely outdated consignment records. I tried to sell a saddle to a customer one day, and when I called the owner with an offer she screamed at me that she thought her saddle was gone forever; they had moved locations without telling the people whose saddles they had on consignment. I still managed to sell it for them and fixed all of the files after, but they used that fact to blame me when they somehow lost track of a saddle after I wasn’t even there anymore. Another work relationship, I drove all the way from the Midwest to work with a trainer in California. She was batshit crazy and I ended up quitting 3 weeks in after she fired my only co-worker and began dividing my responsibilities up between me and 3 people who knew nothing about horses without talking to me once. Still proud of myself to this day for packing my shit up and just driving away.

Long winded way of saying COMPLETELY AGREE. My trainer nowadays is a nut but since I’m the one paying her the relationship is wayyyy better than what I’ve experienced in the past lol
