I took French for 4 or 5 years - I know it was through junior high and maybe one or two years of high school. I can say hi and ask for the bathroom. However, unlike Meghan, I went to a crumbling, urban high school where the teachers went on strike several times and the system started a desegregation program while I was in the eighth grade. Academics weren't a particular priority back then.

Ironically for this thread, I also went on to attend Northwestern. I was in a Spanish class for one day before I discovered that I accidentally registered for a higher level and I needed to be in the beginner level. Does that count?

And no, I'm not anywhere near Meghan's age, so I didn't come close to rubbing shoulders with her.
