years ago when I was in community college, I went to school with a lot of older women who were given the opportunity to go back to school because the sewing plant was closed down and the work went overseas. The women LOVED being in college. They were thrilled to learn an actual trade and do something besides mind numbing, back breaking work in a hot/cold factory all day. Same thing here. As I stated on another post, nobody is mourning their job as a cashier. New jobs have also been created; Grocery pickup and Instacart/Door Dash have given people more independence and financial freedom than they ever had stuck behind a cash register all day.
