Man who believed virus was hoax loses wife to Covid-19

Sure but you know that’s not true, it’s the same line of thinking that a racist uses. Sweeping generalisations are part of racist thinking. There are sensible voices on each side of the political spectrum, it’s important to see the forest for the trees.

When I learned about politics in school, the question was “what is the main objective of a political party”

literally the answer was that the main objective of a political party is to gain power!

That stuck with me because when asked that question you find yourself think oh maybe their objective is to do good, grow the economy, better schooling etc. But no it was to gain power by all means necessary. Because agendas can’t be put into action without power.

So if we know this we can separate our emotions and passions that we put into these parties and understand that both sides will say and do anything to get into power, whether it’s choosing running mates that appeal to the base or building walls that appeal to the base. Controlling narratives in the media to stoke resentment on both sides of the spectrum. It’s all designed to win your vote.

It’s nasty business on both sides but it’s important to keep an open mind, think big picture and as individuals we need to be better to each other and ourselves.
