Men of reddit, what have you done in 2021 and it made you freaking proud of yourself?

Getting clean from booze. I quarantined a lot last year and this year. I think being by myself and drinking really messed with my mind to the point where I had to go to a mental hospital. I had severe Delirium tremens and was sleep deprived from alcohol withdraw. I was really suicidal too, so they put me on 24 hr watch. They gave me the help I needed years ago and I'm glad I went there. Mental hospitals aren't as scary and evil as movies show. (Except for the waiting room with everyone locked in for days. It's like a jail, but a hospital. And yeah, I've tried escaping many times when I got there. LoL But, it's a really nice place once you get into the next sector of the building (main). The doctors ad staff there are extremely loving. The hospital ended up paying for my entire 2 week stay and ambulance ride as well. The food was so amazing that I ate 3 plates of every meal!

I became a completely different person when I got home. I passed my aviation exams, became a certified pistol instructor, and becoming a blaster. I had a great rest of the year!

So, don't be afraid to talk to your doctor and let them know about quitting or any mental problems that you may have. THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE THERE FOR! They've helped millions of people like you, so they know exactly what to do.
