Minorities of reddit, what experience was so unbelievably racist, to the point where you weren't even mad, but just... Confused?

I tan easily and I love to workout outside.

A couple days ago, outside a Chinese restaurant where I was headed to pick up some take out, an older white woman stopped me and started sobbing about how she lost her family to covid.

I felt awkward and didn’t respond right away after she stopped crying which made her scream. (And might I add, a total vocal change).

“Shit, do you even speak English? Fucken mexican.”

Yeah, I speak English, lady.

Another time, a white man started cussing me out randomly at a red light while I was on a jog. Started called me a bunch of racist names for Hispanic people.

And something I really hate is, people automatically speak Spanish to me. Especially when they were just speaking English to someone else.

I speak English. My Spanish is really bad. Stop assuming I only speak Spanish.

Especially bothers me when it’s a white person speaking broken Spanish. Bothers me more when I reply to Spanish and they still insist on speaking in broken Spanish.
