What exactly causes avoidants to deactivate? I noticed the reason I deactivate is a bit different from why DAs or DAs leaning FAs deactivate. When I do it it's usually because I my pride and dignity has been squashed so bad just looking at or thinking the person gives me severe anxiety so I finally get the courage to block them and never come back or something about them made me cringe.

It's very rare that I deactivate from someone trying to get too close (then again I never let people get close enough too me in the first place to get to that point) . But what is "too close" to you if that makes sense? What level vulnerability is too uncomfortable to the point you begin closing up?
