This forum is clearly discussing an issue within the Muslim community, and instead of having an argument about a hijab being patriarchal or not, you say, “what about Mennonite women?“ Yes, what about them? We’re not talking about them, we were talking about Muslim women. This has been a classic distraction that people have used for years instead of engaging in an argument directly. It is a kin to. Someone saying“my foot hurts“ Then their friend says

“But what about my hand? My hand hurts too.”

Well that doesn’t really deal with the issue of my foot hurting right now does it.
