Please enlighten us on what options a 13 year girl like this has. One who is entirely financially dependant on her father, while knowing full-well the views of women and religion her father and the extremist zealots he identifies with hold. Where adherence to religion trump everything and that lives in a constant state of fear knowing the repercussions of dishonour.

You may not have said it was easy but you certainly implied it when you off-hand suggested she just use other options. It completely discounted the psychological effects and fear that an abused person lives with. For her, in her mind, lying probably wasn’t the easy choice, it was probably the only choice.
