My (30M) wife (27F) pulled our daughter (7) out of school to homeschool her despite me telling her I didn't want her homeschooled

Maybe if your parents aren’t socially stable. I’ve seen the other side where my sister had an Associates of Science and an Associates of Liberal Arts by the time she was 18. My brother got his PhD in Engineering Physics by the time he was 26. I’m less impressive, but I went to college by the time I was 17 and graduated by 20. We’re all well rounded people, married to people that went to both public and private schools…growing up, we had friends from all backgrounds. Being homeschooled isn’t for every parent/child, but isn’t an automatic death sentence.

And as someone starting to teach their four year old reading and writing—kids are naturally curious and inclined to learn. And at that 7, there’s really only 2-3 hours of sitting down and learning a day. If the kid is stuck with online, I can guarantee time with mom would be more beneficial.

We don’t have all the facts and I don’t agree with a parent unilaterally making decisions—but based on the situation in Ontario, homeschooling may be a good temporary solution that OP should seriously consider. They say 2nd grade reading skills are at an all time low for kids in school—can it really be any worse?
