What about me made you decide I was privileged? I say I'm more talented, in terms of academia, than someone doing a nonsense course at a nonsense university. Just as someone who played for one of the world's top football teams, like Barcelona or even Arsenal, could assert he is better at football than someone playing for Accrington Stanley in the fourth tier of English football and 999/1000 times he'd be right to make that assumption.
My programme isn't expensive, all universities in the UK cost the same amount. And you're having a laugh if you think that someone rolling out of Harvard with a slightly lower GPA would lose out to someone from a much easier course at a much worse university in a grad scheme. Look at the CVs of professors at top universities, the vast majority of them went to top universities at undergrad too, because clever people get into top undergrad courses. Its not impossible to overcome going to a shit university but its nowhere near as easy you imply or as just going to a good undergrad university. But you keep telling yourself that pretty little lie that Postgrad Harvard will open its arms to you if you get a decent GPA, or GRE score. If you somehow manage to make a huge breakthrough in mathematics or WGS research then hats off to you and yeah you'd be fine, but I somehow doubt that
If your degree is from Oxbridge, you literally get 'fast-track' interviews for many jobs where you go straight to the final assessment centre. And if someone is at a top university, chances are they had stellar grades beforehand and they will continue to have good grades, very few people suddenly drop off and become morons. The whole point of those places is that you work much harder, are pushed much more and learn far more so you can reach your own ceiling. That's why they are known for giving such a good education, so even people who go to terrible universities that are equal to top university students initially can never keep up over 4 years.
YOU HAVEN'T EVEN TAKEN SECOND SEMESTER COURSES YET AND YOU ARE CLAIMING ITS ALL EASY COMPARED TO GENDER STUDIES. Wow. Of course it is, and if you're attempting to claim your second semester course at some shit hole is in any way on the same level of difficultly as someone doing just a maths degree at an elite institution you're mad.
