My bro had a close call!

they have no idea how they're supposed to work.

This is what I don't get. There is like ONE rule (okay maybe a couple) for roundabouts

  1. Vehicles INSIDE the roundabout HAVE THE FUCKING RIGHT OF WAY, THAT'S WHY THERE'S A FUCKING YIELD SIGN WHEN YOU APPROACH. The only exception to this rule is that EVERYONE (inside and outside of the roundabout) YIELDS to PEDESTRIANS.

  2. (or maybe 1 depending how stupid someone is), You traverse the roundabout in a counter clockwise circle (at least in the states), DO NOT TURN LEFT INTO THE ROUNDABOUT

Also, to clear up any misconceptions that people like to have about roundabouts (not you OP, just people in general)

  1. Roundabouts are safer than a conventional 4-way stop due to collisions being more of the sideswipe variety as opposed to angle (aka T-bone) when some jackass blows through the stop sign at 45mph that you would see in a conventional 4-way. Please note, that in many cases, the number of collisions will increase (but the severity will likely be lower) when a roundabout is first installed and drivers are learning how to use it

  2. Collisions are typically less severe due to the lower speeds associated with traversing a circle as opposed to going straight through a conventional 4-way stop (again, even a dumbass that doesn't yield is going to slow down from 45mph if they realize they have to traverse a tight circle)

  3. Roundabouts function better than many (especially relatively low volume) conventional 4-way stops or stop lights as there is no "stop time" unless you are yielding.

I'm sure there are people that will people who argue with me and provide anecdotal "proof" that roundabouts are more dangerous and less efficient, but the evidence points to roundabouts being safer than conventional 4-way stops.
