My coworker is stuck in an endless loop

I used to be the only sales rep that took TTY and other slow calls (slow as in the people aren't ordering fast enough). It always hurt my call volume even though my sales number was never hurt. Luckily, I never got even talked to about that for about a year. I got fired for writing a program (that I was requested to do by a manager) which took me a week to write since I only did it between calls (it was really just a macro, nothing complicated except I only had employee access and had to find a way to get manager data, oh and I had to figure out their internal language which wasn't really as hard as it sounds) which turned a 5 hour managerial job into a 15 minute one where they could leave their PC to get coffee (it could've been faster with proper access too.. while programming, I mean).

A few days later, I was called into a managerial meeting (all the sales managers and me). I'll be honest, I thought they'd thank me for improving their job. As they put it in the interview, the data I was able to get could easily be misused by someone in the sales floor to boost their numbers. Told them it was irrelevant to the job as I didn't use it for my sales stats as they stayed somewhat the same though call volume did go down a bit more. They brought up that they have a programming department that handles their internal system, so I told them about being asked by a manager to do it and that they were the ones who said they'd been asking for a program like this for years (some speculated that upper management didn't prioritize it very high, since it didn't really effect their work). They even accused me of hacking, I didn't deny it really (I mean technically it was), but there was no data there that any sales rep couldn't access. Apparently they really didn't like me, because they pounced on the call volume at that point and said if I don't get such and such amount of calls next week (it was about double the overall average) that I'd be fired. I told them straight up that I wouldn't get that number because I'd have to hang up or rush a lot of people. I'm not sure if they thought I cared about my sales going down (I really didn't, I felt like I'd be cheating the customer) or what. Either way, they fired me saying I couldn't and wouldn't meet those demands.

While leaving one manager (there was no manager sticking up for me during the meeting) handed me a card to their programming department and said I should call them (no apologies, no goodbye, no "thanks for doing that thing we asked for that made our lives easier"). I never called. I didn't want to work for them again after that bad taste was left in my mouth. The only consultation I got was that they were still using my original code for years after I left (I might be mentally exaggerating here, it might be months, but I can't really remember how much longer my friend continued to work there). I'm positive they don't use that code anymore, as their system was ancient and should've been updated by now. I wouldn't be surprised if they are using it. though.
