My parents didn’t show up to my graduation.

I'm sorry. I'm proud of you and happy for you. That sucks.

This especially pisses me off because last Friday, my husband's half-brother's stepson (got that? haha) was promoted in the military. It was in DC, none of us are anywhere near DC. We couldn't be there (only found out last minute). So we all got on the fucking Zoom meeting so we could watch and cheer him on (I didn't expect him to be able to see the screen and was surprised when he greeted everybody by name, it was so cute, he was so excited to see everyone). His mom was there, his stepdad, I was there (he's step-aunt?), my husband was there, his step-grandma was there (she kept texting me to make sure she knew how to get on the Zoom, it was so sweet). Like, show up for your kids. How hard is that? And I'm sure they had plenty of notice.

I'm sorry. I hope you surround yourself with people who show up for you.
