Why the Myers-Briggs test is totally meaningless

I'm not gonna pretend like I know anything about psychology, but there are a few things in this video I'm not sure about.

I've read a lot of the profile types and the one I always end up with is definitely more fitting for me than the others, even if they are all positive. I'm fairly confident if I just read all the profiles, and picked the one that suited me most, it would have been the same.

They say people can take the test within a few months and get different results. I've taken the tests repeatedly over the last 15+ years at various stages in my life. I always got the same result, until I started a company and was forced to change my habits and behaviors for the sake of the company. At that point my results changed very slightly, but appropriately, and they haven't changed again since.

They also say that a major flaw is "you're slotted as one or the other", which isn't entirely true. I've seen versions of the test that show you the percentages as well, for example it shows me as a very high level of introvert, while some other components may be more towards the middle. You may come out as "sensing" even though you're only JUST on the side of sensing, which would be important information to know. They just don't tend to talk about that in the results or profile descriptions.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't base any important life decisions on this, and I avoid learning people's type before I get to know them so that it doesn't color my view of them, but it's also certainly more useful and interesting than, say, astrological readings or fortune cookies. If someone asks me my sign, I will roll my eyes a whole lot harder than if they ask me my MBTI.
