A developing China actually doesn't have more money that Europe. The EU (not even all of Europe, just the EU) has a GDP of like $16T nominal, and in China it was something like $11T nominal last year. The EU also had higher import/export figures than China did last year by dollar amount.

Look at a per-capita GNI figure. Or a Disposable Income Infographic. Your average Brazilian has more disposable income than your average Chinese citizen. Half of the countries who lead in Disposable Income are European, and every single one of them is ahead of China.

Sure, it's an emerging market, but since when do you target an emerging market for entertainment? Especially when jerseys retail for $100+ easy, you'd be better off targeting the hundred million Europeans who can afford that than the ten million Chinese who can.
