North Carolina hospital system fires 175 employees who have not gotten vaccinated

I'm soon to be thrice vaccinated. But this is incredible shameful. We're already grossly understaffed nationwide. A lot folks at the bedside left the workforce entirely under the weight the pandemic. It's disappointing that we're about to let go of a workforce we don't have but there was absolutely no issue with unsafe patient nursing ratios, being dangerously staffed, being forced to use same N95s for weeks on end, working without essential supplies, wearing patient gowns and trash bags because we no longer had PPE, or having no PPE at all in some areas because corporations sold to European nations with cash in hand while state department health agencies begged and left empty handed. And now we're about to be put under more duress because the government is threatening to withhold federal money to entities that don't mandate this for employees. Absolutely shameful. Don't make our life more difficult. We're suffering enough as it is. Just let us take care of you and make our own decisions. No one withholds care from you when you make shitty decisions. Let these folks make their own decisions and face the consequences
