Nvidia plans to lock Game Ready drivers behind GeForce Experience registration

Does it matter? I mean does it really actually matter?

These people provide game ready drivers for your card, for the low cost of nothing.

So first of all - I'm not saying it's not true - but where is the source of this information?

I could easily write an article saying anything without providing solid proof.

Sometime in mid-December, however, you’ll be able to install Game Ready drivers only via GeForce Experience—and even then only after you’ve registered a verified email address with Nvidia.

Ok, so where's the twitter post for this? Where's the forum post regarding this? If you're going to be the "source" of information, provide it in a clear manner, quoting the person and what they said word for word.

Second of all, if it is true, then again... who gives a shit? It's putting your email address into some software that you have running all the time.

You don't like the software? Fine, don't use it, go to AMD... but is it worth really complaining about giving your email address (which you can easily get a temp on for if you're that paranoid) to a company which developed you a fantastic card, while providing regular driver updates for the low cost of nothing?

At the end of the day, it's pointless worrying about this. What bad can come out of it? They have your email address... out of the 100's of 1000's of people who use their hardware. How many things have you signed up for? Facebook? Google? - these companies sell your data to third party advertisers... yet no one bats an eye about that.

The moment Nvidia who sold you hardware, which would be more or less useless without their continual software support are asking you to register your product to get support.

This used to be a thing back in the day. When you got hardware, you wouldn't get any software updates without registering your hardware with the company.

Take Razer for example, you can't run their software without signing up... where's the post about that?

To me, this is just an article to try and generate a shit storm out of nothing. Click bait - unfortunately I succumbed to that :( - to get you on to their site.
