Obama blames gerrymandering for political gridlock

Since his comment got deleted I'll post my response here.

Did you read the fucking article? It links to fucking scientific research, which you won't understand until you reach high school, that concludes it doesn't matter.

  1. The only thing the scientific research touches upon is that once a district leans left/right the politician will be even farther left/right than the district itself. The research doesn't disprove that this extremism arises from gerrymandering by making it so that candidates only have to worry about the primary instead of the general election. By only having to worry about primaries, it is beneficial for the political candidate to be more extreme than the average voter because the way the districts are gerrymandered makes it so that they only have to appeal to the most radical part of their base.

  2. Reddit is suppose to only be for people who are 13 years or older. Given the copious amount of cursing in your comment, I can only assume that you are in violation of this part of the user agreement for the website.

Your stupidity is astounding. I am in awe. Nothing matters when the electorate is dumb.

Your maturity is lacking. I recommend learning some manners, and finishing middle, before getting into politics.

Gerrymandering doesn't do anything.

You're basing your opinion off of one scientific study whose conclusion can be challenged.

Campaign finance doesn't matter (high school civics lessons will inform you that elections are not determined by spending). Voter apathy is a good thing. Dummies shouldn't vote.

It seems you haven't even taken a high school civics lesson if you think apathy is a good thing. I surely hope you wait till you're the appropriate age to follow politics and, when the time comes, pay attention to your high school civics teacher.
