Off Topic Questions & Discussion for 3/16/2015

So, I know it's somewhat off-topic for the sub (but that's what this topic is for!), but I've been seeing a lot of discontent with various designers' sizing standards lately. And it's got me thinking...

I have a proposal that I think would be a pretty good idea, but I want to make sure that there would be mod support/tolerance and subscriber backing for it before I really started going with it!

I'd like both subs' and mods' inputs on this, how would everyone feel about an e-mail writing campaign directed towards clothing designers who engaged in excessive vanity sizing? Basically, I'm thinking of something to counter-act the "fat acceptance movement" complaining about how there are only "anarectic sizes" available in stores. I'm thinking that, maybe once a week, we (that is, all volunteering shitlords) would write to a male and/or female clothing designer (it would vary week by week) and formally, en masse, request that they reverse their vanity sizing, or that they sell sizes for smaller, yet still healthy weight, individuals. The e-mails would, of course, be designed to inform the designers that they would still be satisfying the demand of a sexually appealing demographic.

What I am envisioning is that I would provide a form email for willing shitlords once a week, and those who are willing would e-mail the address given to them with the (filled out) form e-mail that I would also provide, and hopefully, the bulk e-mail wave would convince those who are involved in marketing to pass the pressure on to the people in design.

Again, I know it may not work, but I wanted to suggest some way that I might help my fellow shitlords.

Specifics are, of course, open to negotiations, and I would definitely welcome hearing from the mods on this subject (because I know that there are some special rules that apply to situations like these - at least, they do if you are r/kotakuinaction), and the last thing I want to do is break any of those rules.

So: Mods, tell me if/how you'd support this.

And shitlords: Tell me if you would support this at all, and if you'd be willing to send e-mails to vendors you may have never even heard of (because I want to allow everyone a chance to complain to their favorite designer).

Be well, and be thin!
