Thr way I see it this girls problems can be traced straight back to how her mother, who raised her, "communicates" and what emotions she expects from her daughter.

Mom wants praise for being the parent that's always there like a kid that wants parental approvement. And that makes her act in a way that prevents her from getting that from her daughter.

Even at 18, its just not sensible to say emotionally manipulative things to your kid like "I wont forgive you for this", when you're simultaneously fishing for love since you absolutely plan to forgive them.

She verbally hurt her daughter to feel benevolent afterwards, no wonder that girl turned out childish and overly dramatic with a constant need to seek attention from someone who wont give it.
