Why do other religions exist?

I read this last night and thought it may interest you. It's about the role of Islam in biblical prophecy. This is an excerpt from the book Final Warning by Carl Gallups:

Daniel appears to be giving God's people a formula of some sort. The formula involves specific numbers: 1,290 days and 1,335 days. It is important to note that the designation day in the original Greek does allow for the symbolic interpretation of the word as year... The numbers and clues also seem to be associated with Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. These locales would certainly qualify for the definition of the clue labeled the holy place. King Nebuchadnezzar, of the Babylonian Empire, destroyed the Temple in 586 BC. The regular sacrifice of Daniel's day ended. If you move forward 1,290 years, starting at 586 BC, you arrive at the year AD 704-705... What is significant about this time period? It just so happens that the Islamic Dome on the Rock was constructed between the years 688 and 691. The companion mosque right next to the Dome on the Rock, the Al-Aqsa mosque, was finally completed in AD 705. This would be the exact year of Daniel's prophecy - 1,290! Numerous Bible explorers have seen the precise fulfillment of the abomination that causes desolation in this set of date connections. It is a fact that, to the Christian and the Jew, Islam is an abomination in several important ways. In addition, the erection of Islam's third holiest site in the world on the spot where the Temple of God used to stand surely is deemed by many to be a desecration of the ancient and original Jewish site. Furthermore, few in today's world would argue that some of the most recent desolations have occurred at the hands of Islam (9/11, Arab Spring, Islamic terrorism, attacks on Israel, threats to annihilate Israel, the slaughter and devastation of Muslim-on-Muslim wars, attacks on Christians in Egypt and throughout the Middle East, and so forth). To many Bible prophecy students, the world is now actually experiencing the prophecies of Daniel and Jesus. Every time there is a camera shot or video sweep of Old Jerusalem on the evening news, what is front and center in the scenery? It is the Islamic Dome of the Rock, and standing next to it... the Al-Aqsa mosque. The two, many would claim, make up at least a part of the prophecy of the abomination that causes desolation standing in the holy place. What is even more amazing is the fact that, at the time of Daniel's and Jesus' prophecies, Islam had not yet been founded. That would not occur until, according to the traditional Islamic view, AD 610, when Muhammad began receiving his "revelations" at the age of forty. What about Daniel's clue of 1,335 days (or years)? Numerous Bible experts have made this amazing observation: Jerusalem was recaptured and reclaimed for Israel in the year 1967. Certainly Jerusalem is the holiest city on the planet for the Jew and Christian. - and the year 1967 would be considered a happy or blessed year. Counting back 1,335 years from 1967, one arrives on the date of AD 632. That just happens to be the year of Muhammad's death (June 8th, 632). Once again, Daniel's mysterious number could be seen to be directly associated with Israel, the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, Islam, and the abomination that causes desolation.
