Pitch your Movie Ideas! - Asian/Asian American/Asian Diaspora protagonists only

I always loved the visual style from noir films. The film will start out in the protagonist's childhood and follow him through out his life and career. The film will have normal bright visual styles at the start in the childhood phase but the film will gradually adopt noir visuals as the protagonist encounters things that begin to wear out his psyche. Ie, racism, traumatic cases, realizations about how the west views him.

Main plot:

Movie is set in rainy NYC. The protagonist is an Asian American who is aware of his culture and has a strong identity. He is also a rookie to the NYPD, but is also a bit of an Uncle Chan. Eventually he becomes worn out and cynical from seeing people targeting the Asian community constantly and dealing with racism from his colleagues on a daily basis.

Eventually he adopts a no fucks given attitude and becomes harsher on criminals targeting Asians, even to the point of beating them to gain necessary information. He also makes it a point to protect his community. Years later he is promoted to detective due to his work ethic, principal and no fucks given attitude.

As a detective he has to investigate a disturbing case (Peter Scully level of messed up) which leaves him traumatized and withdrawn from his wife.

He is withdrawn from his wife because he wants to remain strong to be able to take care of her and protect her. However she doesn't understand and leaves him for a white guy. (The white guy is a racist and fetishizes her)

Eventually all of this pushes him to the edge. He's cynical and feels like there is no hope and he has nothing to live for. His last goal in life is to serve his very own brand of justice to the sick serial killer. He will also kill whoever gets in his way.
