Poland summons U.S. ambassador over FBI head's Holocaust remarks

Poland lost 16% of its total population during the 2nd World War, that is a higher percent than any other country in the war; over 1,500,000 ethnic Christian Poles perished in concentration camps alongside Jews. The Poles suffered tremendously along with the Jews in WW2 and to say that they were complicit is false. Never did the Polish government/military surrender to, or let alone AID the Germans in their occupation of Poland. They fought bitterly underground until the war was over.

This is how the Germans felt about Polish people: "German planners had in November 1939 called for "the complete destruction" of all Poles.[344] "All Poles", Heinrich Himmler swore, "will disappear from the world".

My grandfather Konrad and his mother took in a Jewish girl and hid her from certain death after Konrad's sister passed away. They are honored at Yad Vashem as Righteous Among The Nations, as are many other Poles. This has ALWAYS been seen as a sense of pride among my family and everyone who I have ever spoken to in Poland; I visit at least once every year. Poland also has the most people who did things like my family, over 6,000 people who are officially honored for their aid to Jews, more then any other country.

Did some people turn in their Jewish neigbors? Yes. Did some people risk their lives and the lives of their families to aid their Jewish neigbors? Yes. This is true for every country occupied by Germany in WW2. Its a very complex subject and is a source of both shame and pride among Europeans now.

The links you provided are laughable; one is a poll that has no info on sample size or demographics, and deals with conspiracy theories among Poles. According to most recent polls, Poland is about the same as France and Germany in terms of anti-semitism. The other is a link to the Kielce Pogrom in which 9 of the murderers were later executed by the Polish government for the crimes they commited.
