US politics mega-thread

Russophobia is prevalent in America and not taken nearly as seriously as it should be.

Whenever anyone questions the Russiagate narrative, the need for NATO, western foreign policy on Syria or heavily criticises establishment Democrats, they are almost always accused of being a Russian agent. I myself have literally been accused of being paid by Russia for simply saying I would vote third party if a Democrat such as Kamala Harris or Joe Biden was the nominee. As well as this, centrist neoliberals have sarcastically told me I've been drinking vodka and referred to me as "Sergey" or "Ivan".

If anyone did the same, but replaced Russia with another nation, like Israel, these same neoliberals would see the problem. If I was to accuse someone of being an Israeli agent or reference matzos while calling them "Shecky" or "Hershel" I would be labelled antisemitic, so why are neoliberals not called Russophobic?

You can believe the Russiagate narrative (I personally don't) without denigrating Russians in a way that you wouldn't any other nation.
