"Every time I try to post during a PPV, shit gets deleted by the mods, so this probably will, as well. I don't blame them, just doin' their jobs. I just wanted to post my perspective as someone who's damn near "cherry possessing virgin" to AJ Styles. Of course I knew who he was, I caught clips of TNA but never saw a damn thing other than his face basically. I'm in my 30's and really just only want to watch one wrestling program so I pick WWE because it's "mainstream" (though honestly I'm beginning to question that decision after watching again starting watching again in 2007 - before that I was a WCW fanboy and when WCW died, part of me died because, hey, I was like 13 or ballpark). I haven't been this excited for a wrestler since Daniel Bryan, in fact I have to admit (despite my respect and sadness for Bryan) that I think AJ is 10000x cooler. Cooler LOOKING, cooler MOVES, and his entrances is just holy balls awesome. Great tune, great lights, great poses, fucking shit the dude is legend. I am -not- a wrestling expert. I have never watched Japanese wrestling (only anime and porno, sorry m8), I have never seen ROH, Lucha whatever, and I've only caught a few glimpses of NXT TakeOvers (all of which I loved, though). I have to be honest, I'm kind of not one of those "technical rasslin'" marks. I mean I love a great wrestler but I think when it comes to talking on the stick, I prefer that. As far as AJ goes, he's ok but not the best I've seen on the stick. But I can't help but love the fuck out of every match he touches. Dude just looks so LEGIT. See, I also like Ambrose, but some of the moves he pulled at Extreme Rules tonight looked so horrible that I cringed. If they're performance artists, Dean pull a D+ at best with his weird string bounces and "rebound" moves and honestly they've never looked that awesome even on a -great- match. But AJ is a game changer to me. I almost want to have a library of TNA shit at my disposal so I can watch thousands of hours of this man rise. His mic skills are NOT what impresses me, it's just him in the ring. It's fucking balls ass insanity! So crisp! And as a pure WWE fan, I'm not used to thinking "things look like injuries and/or things look stiff" but with AJ, that's every match since he debuted! And I can't believe they let Roman beat him after tonight's match. I mean I sorta can, I definitely can actually, imagine Vince would never let a TNA guy win, ever. But I mean, FFS. Signature move ON A CHAIR, that shit should have been -over-. I was so mad. I was happy to see Seth again because he's been a total bad ass as well, but honestly if I had to pick, I'd take AJ 100000x over Seth. But I'll take what I can get. Fuck, I'd take Cena over Roman at this point. This shit is getting insane. But that's enough from me, I just wanted to jet my load out there (lel) and tell you guys what a "WWE purist" (if only for lack of energy/will/time) thought of AJ Styles. AJ is my new guy, #4life.
