Interesting Facts:
I uploaded a parody of Der Untergang (USA: Downfall) of a (by now well-known) parody maker to YouTube, giving him full credit ofcourse. It went viral in all Dutch-speaking regions, the comments were really nice and it was even featured on the two biggest TV news broadcasts and various newspapers. It eventually received an English, Italian and German translation, because foreign blogs were talking about it as well.
After more than 1.3 million views, it was sadly taken down by the copyright holder of Der Untergang, which the original author made a parody of ofcourse. Since then, I have been told I should've mirrorred the video, but I chose not to upload it again. Many people have uploaded it after me, some with English dubs, so I saw no need to. Sadly this all happened just before AdSense was rolled out to everyone on YouTube; I didn't earn anything but many laughs.
On the plusside, the original author got a lot more fame thanks to me uploading his parody. Initially only a limited amount of people had seen his parody, now many thousands were enjoying his parodies. I still plan to meet the guy some day, just to thank him for his awesome parodies about Dutch television shows, our king and international politics.
One additional funny thing to mention is that I gave his parody a different title when uploading it to YouTube; he has adopted my title instead of his old one ever since.
