Progressives are the ones who demand that white characters be race changed for the sake of greater racial diversity in TV and movie adaptations of stories written by white people that have mostly white characters.

When they are challenged on this by arguments that race-changing white characters is unethical or "stealing", they usually argue that it is because of racism that not more characters in books written by whites are non-white PoC.

For example, a lot of progressives are arguing that it is because of racism and the lack of civil rights that white comic book creators chose to make all their heroes such as superman, batman, spiderman, wonderwoman, iron man, etc. white instead of black or Asian.
