Protein study: 2g/lb (4.4g/kg) VS 1.5g/lb (3.4g/kg) VS 1.1g/lb (2.3g/kg)

Late to the thread but I get really annoyed when people just blanket reject studies based on funding. Not humans but I used to do research in animal nutrition, and yes we sometimes received money to do some feed trials when companies were testing out some new ration or supplement. We ran the trial, reported the results - whatever they were, regardless of outcome - and that was that. Sometimes they were positive for the company, sometimes they weren't. Usually if it wasn't a happy outcome for them (as in, product didn't seem to work), they would go back to R&D and come back another time.

So yes, researchers often get money to do research. I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to jump on "any research funded by the industry" whatever the industry is, is immediately useless. You need to actually read the studies before jumping to conclusions.

I also wonder if these people know how hard it is to get funding for, well, anything haha. For many groups getting funds to do nutrition research from certain companies are like the only way they stay afloat, especially with the way federal funding has been dropping.
