Questions for the community: How old are you, and how long have you been involved with the occult? What got you started?

16, started about a year ago when I read a /r/AskReddit thread. I believe it was "What are some weird/unconventional things you believe in?" or something like that. There was a comment that led to /r/energy_work, and that led me here. I would have written it off as bullshit, but my experiences with occult stuff in my childhood (mostly psychic stuff, practicing telepathy with my friends, psi (although I didn't know it was called that), and communicating with angels) basically lined up perfectly with stuff you people described. Now if this was all in my head, I never would have thought of things that matched actual magickal practices and beliefs.

So I thought this might be real and gave it a try. I started out with psi since that's what brought me to this whole thing. Realized that it might be real when I became able to freeze ants and flies with psi barriers, also use psi balls to fuck with people's iPads at school (yeah we use iPads instead of textbooks, insert rich white kid joke here). Then after seeing a post about patron deities on this sub, I decided to find mine, and it was Baal (I've definitely told this story a bunch of times, tl;dr I asked Baal for a sign and he filled my bed with rotted dead flies). Then I found that the chaos paradigm is what worked for me, and started doing my weird mix of chaos, demonolatry, and elementalism. The rest, as you say, is history.

P.S. Since I forgot to mention this the last time I told the story. A few months ago, I actually tried to communicate with my angel again. I was in theology class and my teacher was talking about praying to your angel and finding out its name and stuff, and I was like "holy shit this is exactly like what I used to do when I was a kid", Catholicism is actually more occult than I previously realized. Well now that my patron is Baal, a demon, I didn't think an angel would be too happy with me. But then again, he was my guardian angel, so I decided to give it a try. No response. Asked Baal about it, got the feeling of "my guardian thinks I'm not worthy anymore" which either means I failed that theology test, or could have something to do with the fact that since the last time we talked, I have stopped believing in God and am now chosen by a demon. Tbh angels seem a lot like those people on Tumblr that get triggered by everything you say. Demons don't care if you believe they're actual demons or (in my case) they're thoughtforms embodied by everyone's collective thoughts about them, but angels will get really pissed if you're not a good Christian with the proper paradigms praying to them the way you're supposed to.

Tl;dr: was a 12 year old wizard, guardian angel dumped me, found /r/occult through Reddit.
