I really don't get the point of spending the rest of your life being "insanely insecure" about being overweight when you could just... lose weight?

It's kind of a real issue with online dating. Sometimes you'd accept something if you met the person organically but building a stranger up in your head then meeting something else can be starting.

I had an issue when I was lifting where I was a really big dude but like I wasn't super shredded or anything. Like I was 230 lbs give or take in that 14-16% bodyfat range so like no abs, no bulging biceps, I was proportional so no one muscle group stood out, but I was just big. If you saw a picture of me with no context I looked like a regular dude. But in person Id be really big.

This startled some girls that I met in online dating. Like I could see it just kinda threw them off balance. I think it wouldnt have been an issue if they had known ahead of time, but for some in the moment they had to do some mental arithmetic on the spot. But I never intentionally hid it, and it would have made me a tool to mention it in my profile.

And that's just one example. I've definitely met girls who seemed to check all the boxes but then they opened their mouth and I heard their voice and thought "that's just not the voice I want to hear everyday".

There's tons of reasons not to be attracted to people. Size is a legitimate one. Especially since it tells you a lot about a person's lifestyle choices. It's just so weird that FAs want to make weight into a non-issue.
