Regulators urged to act as investigation reveals Amazon sellers using hacked accounts to post five-star reviews: Which? found legitimate users were having their accounts hijacked with one having as many as 2,500 bogus reviews posted in their name.

There's some sites for checking reviews.

I tried Fakespot on a security DVR system I bought in 2018 that up being pretty shitty and unreliable but was full of great reviews. Normally my BS detector is pretty good but I think this listing slipped by me. According to Fakespot:

- "Previous analysis of this listing was an D grade."

- Our engine has profiled the reviewer patterns and has determined that there is high deception involved.

- Our engine has analyzed and discovered that 58.7% of the reviews are reliable.

ReviewMeta also had a big fail, indicating suspicious reviews, repetition of words between reviews, and other issues. I'm definitely going to be using these sites a lot more for any $100+ purchases.
