Rules Rework Draft Discussion

Well it seems all of the problems i had with the rules in their last state have stuck around and even more arbitrary and constrictive rules have been added...

There are so many things in these new rules that only restrict perfectly valid content just because the mod team doesnt like them. Such as the rule that would require short videos/highlights to be in self posts which only hurts the content producer since now they can't just link out immediately or use RES to watch the embedded version while browsing the pages of the sub itself.

Even more rules have now been added that restrict how we can interact with each other and how content creators are slowly being screwed. Youtubers cant post short highlights ever and you will now find an onslaught of 31 second videos just to circumvent your arbitrary rules and you will choke out small 3rd party reporters simply because their reputation which they stake with each article isn't as big as people that work for more high profile publications.

While i was on the team i had a conversation with Koreanterran where i said the mod team shouldn't be the arbiters of truth of this sub and to a small extent he agreed, but he warned me not to say that in front of the rest of the mod team because they would so violently disagree that it would start and argument. With KT gone and myself gone it seems that the same people who always wanted to censor content that they didn't like had a much easier time getting these rules out.

I'm truly sad that it has come to this and that you guys continue to want to rule with an iron fist when we have such a great community full of so many different kinds of people.
