Russia is now a "far greater threat" to the UK's national security than the Islamic State group, the head of the British army has said.

Yea and it doesn’t help that we barely acknowledge their efforts in WW2. Russia sacrificed way many more soldiers than the US. They single handedly stopped Germany on the Eastern front. Had they not been fighting the Nazis on the Eastern side we wouldn’t have defeated them on the Western side in France (along with the UK, Canadians, etc). We never give Russia credit for their efforts in WW2, and we take all the credit for “saving Europe.” They sacrificed basically all of their men. There wasn’t a single Russian family who didn’t have multiple males dead from the war. Yet we’re the ones basking in the glory. It’s kinda messed up, but alas.
