Sacramento Bee journalist goes off- "It's time for Kings to get rid of DeMarcus Cousins"

DMC, with his current, attitude on almost any other franchise wouldn't be a problem. You have to factor in the toll of constantly losing, constantly having poor coaches and poor management. People are using this to single out DMC and giving the King's organization a pass. You think anything will change once DMC is gone? They'll still be a shit team and draft another star hopeful who will most likely get fed up with the Kings constant inner turmoil and want to leave too.

Cousin's attitude is a product of him being a natural hot head and the environment, and one of those is more easily changeable than the others. The things is, the Kings haven't really made any effort to change their environment. They hired George Karl, who had been severely overrated ever since his Seattle Finals trip, and one of Karl's first moves was an attempt to trade Cousins. I mean you already destroyed any chance at a relationship you have with a star player if that's your first move.

Also, I want to point out that what DMC is doing is not so unlike what Mr. Bryant was doing in LA in between the Shaq trade and Pau coming. Reports came out every week how Bryant was yelling at teammates at Phil Jackson and at Jerry Buss. They had the opportunity to trade him, but you know what they did, they traded for a star in Pau to help Bryant. If the Kings organization could just make competent moves this would be a non-issue. Sure DMC would still make boneheaded plays every now and then, but winning cures all.

Also, I think it's straight up ridiculous how everyone on r/nba says some bullshit like "I wouldn't want DMC anywhere near my team". The dude is the best center in the league and arguably a top 10 player in the league. You people are just trying to be edgy by saying that, but each and every GM would make a play for him. I am 100% sure that DMC would not have these character issues at any other franchise. And I guarantee you if he does leave and start to flourish all you guys will start revising your comments saying "Oh yah it was the Kings organization the entire time not DMC".
