A Sad Situation (San Francisco, CA)

How about the fact that it is one of the most culturally diverse places in the country

I don't see that as a pro or a con.

with some of the most ethnically diverse options for food as well

It's 2015, we can get ethnically diverse food anywhere.

a three hour drive from world class ski resorts

I can go skiing during the weekend even here from Omaha. And I can afford to go quite often if I wish.

and a five hour drive from Los Angeles and Orange County

I consider being near either of those a negative. :)

where people actually give a fuck about the beaches

We've got lakes, and honesty I prefer lakes over the beach. Water skiing/tubing/boarding/boating/jet skis > sitting on sand staring at water in an overpriced tourist trap location.

many local options to attend professional sporting events

I don't care at all for pro sports, but we have TV's here too. Also due to lower cost of living, we have extra disposable income so we can travel to see teams if we wish. Why do you think the Huskers have one of the most well traveled fan bases?

nearly every single live act musical or otherwise stops here on tour

Any major city gets these acts. They're called "tours" for a reason.

beautiful state forests and options for hiking for beginners and experts

Lots of states have beautiful state lands to visit.

tons of museums

Just like any other city.

zoos

Do you know what the #1 zoo in the world is? Google it.

several local international airports

It's 2015. I can fly internationally from any municipal airport using this thing called a "connecting flight".

beautiful weather as you said...

I enjoy having all four seasons. Living in a daily 80-90 degree drought does not appeal to me.

This isn't the greatest place on the planet, but to say its only appeal is the weather and beaches... stupid.

Yet you probably think all we have in the midwest is corn, covered wagons, cows, and indians.
