Shoppers Can Buy Bad Debt on China's Equivalent of Ebay (aka shoppers can buy furniture, food, and junk bonds in one transaction)

Op implying that real financial turmoil didn't happen in china, most of what happened to my family in regard to this makes me think that's a steaming pile of shit.

Didn't come from a dirt poor origin, my great grandfather owned a very profitable import export herb business, thouroughly extorted by the military in shandong to the point in his journal, he described the hardships of living in poverty.

Then came Japan, as a result my great grandfather did the only thing he knew what to do, escape and run. Passed down were stories of long quick paced hikes going days without food to escape.

He was conscripted in Guangdong, and survived through most of the horrors of land warfare against Japan.

Hunger and severe destitution was a very normal aspect of life for him and my grandfather, he had escaped with my grandfather to Taiwan after the communists took over. My great grand uncles stayed, were persecuted because they were civil servants during the war 20 years of cruelty. While in Taiwan every day was a struggle for survival for my grandfather. Thankfully life calmed down for my father where rather than starving every week it became every other three days.

Life was very easy for anyone older than my great grandfather, but everything was lost and since my grandfather's generation, we've clawed back something of an existence.
