Ppl your age do not know how to communicate when it comes to this stuff bc it’s so new to you. You have no practice and no common language. So it’s really common for someone to say something to be sweet and the other person thinks it’s weird. Don’t ditch him over that. You’ll do it too. The only way to avoid being weird at least once is to never speak.

Ppl telling you to kiss him —- do not do that unless it’s what you want. Don’t let anyone ever pressure you into physical stuff if you don’t 100% want to. Ever.
